Fall prevention systems are an essential component in tower planning, construction and use. It is equally essential to upgrade the safety systems of older towers to current standards.

Workers who construct and maintain communications towers and other high structures are always at risk of a fall, particularly when working in wind or inclement weather. Enforcement of OSHA/CLC government regulations for worker safety at heights is becoming more stringent. In Canada, the Canada Labour Code requires that towers have permanent ladders with some form of fall protection supplied for employees who climb at heights of 2.4 metres or greater. In the USA, OSHA mandates that some form of fall protection be supplied to employees who work at heights of 6 ft or more.
