Paul Royal

Paul Royal joined Trylon as CEO in February 2011, bringing a wealth of senior executive experience in businesses as diverse as heavy equipment manufacturing, steel and electronics. Throughout his career, Paul has driven a strong focus on building value for customers through innovation, cost and quality improvements.
Prior to joining Trylon, Paul was President and CEO of Smart Wave Integrated Products, an electronics designer and manufacturer.
In his prior role as Vice–President Commercial for Algoma Steel, he was accountable for establishing and managing the commercial strategy for all products and services as well as the management and improvement of the distribution network.
Paul is a lawyer, with an LLB from Dalhousie University and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business.
Michael Keenan
– CCO -
Michael joined Trylon in 2012 as a Director to further develop the engineering services division. Michael’s strength and focus on process and system development have enabled Trylon to advance its commitment to its customers, which is to “add value by providing speed, quality, and consistency in the delivery of engineering services”.
Michael has worked closely with Trylon Field Services applying the same process and system innovation which has resulted in further value gained by our clients through cost reductions.
Prior to joining Trylon, Michael worked at ArcelorMittal Dofasco (AMD) for 6 years supporting plant operations in a technical engineering role. His final year at AMD was spent working on a commercial business development project team. Michael then accepted a position at Munro Ltd. As an Engineering Project Manager where he was accountable to deliver the design, construction, and implementation of a pre-cast concrete factory in the Sultanate of Oman.
Michael is a licensed member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. Michael holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Management and a Master of Business Administration, both from McMaster University.
Bonnie Moffatt
– CFO -
Bonnie Moffatt joined Trylon as VP Finance, CFO in June 2016. Bonnie has over 30 years of experience in maturing roles within Accounting and Finance in the manufacturing and distribution sectors. Prior to joining Trylon, Bonnie was a Group Controller in Aerospace manufacturing for Precision Castparts ( part of the Berkshire Hathaway Group), a Regional Controller in automotive manufacturing for Toyota Boshoku, and a Vice President of Finance for Weber Supply. In each of these roles, Bonnie was responsible for multiple plant financial operations within Canada and the USA.
Bonnie has extensive experience implementing strategic metrics, managing significant sales growth within both private and public organizations and is a strong driver of Senior Management team success. Bonnie is formally trained in TPS, (Toyota Lean Manufacturing) and applies it to all aspects of an organization’s operations. She has also effectively prepared companies for acquisition and sale in both the private and public sectors. Bonnie has successfully implemented SOX and J-SOX reporting within multiple companies.
Bonnie graduated Dean’s list from the Business Administration – Accounting program of Humber College.
Calvin Hounsell
– COO -
Trylon welcomed Calvin to the team in 2017 as Vice President of Operations, where he soon moved into the Chief Operating Officer role in 2018. As COO for the Product team at Trylon, Calvin Hounsell is responsible for the execution of all operations related to Product engineering and detailing, procurement, manufacturing and logistics.
Calvin brings more than 20 years of experience to Trylon with diversity across various industries and roles. Prior to joining Trylon, Calvin spent over a decade in many roles within a Fortune 500 company supporting the electronics industry. He then went on to lead the operations and eventually the global supply chain at a commercial aerospace company. Developing and delivering technology-driven business solutions and profitable revenue growth have been his primary focus, where his leadership incorporates both innovation and outstanding client experiences. His extensive knowledge in lean management in various leadership roles brings a structured approach to all aspects of the operations at Trylon and has strengthened the overall continuous improvement culture across the business. Through a strategic approach using data and analytics, Calvin is a results driven leader with only success ahead for Trylon. Calvin graduated from the Business Administration – Materials Management program of Conestoga College.
CHRIS PENFOLD, P.Eng
– VP, Corporate Development -
After joining Trylon in 2009, Chris began his tenure as a Project Manager in the Field Services division and was responsible for estimating and oversight of many telecommunications infrastructure construction projects over the course of his first year with the company. Since that time Chris has taken on several roles of increasing responsibility in both Field Services and Product including Regional Manager, Director of Construction and Director of Product Operations.
In his 14 years at Trylon, he has attained a wealth of experience and knowledge in all areas of Trylon’s business, leading Chris to become a pivotal part of the company’s growth and success across the globe.
Chris holds a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from St. Lawrence College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Queens university. He holds professional engineering licenses in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.
TESSA DUTRA
– VP of Operations -
Tessa joined Trylon in 1997 as a CAD Designer supporting the Manufacturing Division. Tessa’s ascent through the Trylon organization included supervisory roles within the Product Division and as a key member as one of the first employees in Trylon’s Engineering Services Division. Tessa’s strength and focus on automated management systems have been instrumental in enabling sustainable, consistent growth. Tessa’s efforts during her tenure ensure Trylon’s customers receive speed, quality and consistency. Tessa is a Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a Civil Engineering Diploma from Mohawk College.
