Director – Product Operations (Elmira, ON)

We are looking for a Director – Product Operations in our Product work group.

In this role, you will fill a key position within Trylon’s product division encompassing both sales and project management functions. This dynamic role involves management of a high performing sales and PM team as well as collaboration with other departments in order to maximize the Trylon customer service experience.

You will:

  • Budget and execute the sales plan inclusive of top line revenue and direct margin
  • Manage the stock product team, including sales, customer service, and product management functions
  • Manage the custom product team, including sales and project management functions
  • Establish and execute near, mid and long term strategy for the product business including provision of direction regarding new products, development of aging products, and product obsolescence
  • Account for end to end product life cycle management
  • Account for reporting on monthly financial performance
  • Act as primary liaison between the product division and other divisions of the organization

You have:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc)
  • A Post-Secondary Education (University or College)
  • A Minimum 10 years of experience in roles involving the management of people, including performance reviews
  • Telecommunications industry experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Experience preparing annual budget top line sales, direct margin by customer and product type, departmental overhead expenses and monthly accrual reports
  • Set and achieved annual targets for the team
  • Reported on financial forecast weekly
  • Reviewed quotes for custom product and provide direction and approval regarding margins as well as cost validation when required
  • Prepared and presented slide decks on a variety of relevant topics for internal and external meetings and / or reporting
  • Successfully managed escalations from customers and the team
  • Worked in conjunction with other departments to manage and facilitate shipment of customer inventory through customer communication
  • Developed and maintained relationships with all major customers at the management and director level
  • Travelled and met with customers in order to foster increased sales and gain a greater understanding of how Trylon can add value to their organization.
  • Participated in trade shows on an as needed basis in alignment with organizational goals
  • Ability to multi-task & prioritize activities
  • Ability to learn quickly & retain knowledge gained
  • Excellent interpersonal skills- must poses the ability to work well with a variety or departments & external contacts, as well as effectively manage a team of direct and indirect reports
