Experienced Telecommunications Foreman (Canada)

We have immediate openings for Experienced Telecommunication Foreman.  The Foreman is responsible for leading a crew of telecommunications riggers in the duties associated with the installation of a telecommunication structures and associated equipment for any our Canadian locations (BC, AB, ON & Maritimes). The successful candidates must demonstrate leadership and direct all crew members effectively to meet or exceed client and company expectations detailed within the project scope summary.

We have immediate openings for Experienced Telecommunication Foreman.  The Foreman is responsible for leading a crew of telecommunications riggers in the duties associated with the installation of a telecommunication structures and associated equipment for any our Canadian locations (BC, AB, ON & Maritimes). The successful candidates must demonstrate leadership and direct all crew members effectively to meet or exceed client and company expectations detailed within the project scope summary.

Specific Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Proper inspection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Identify and select cables, ropes, blocks, and tackle by weight and size of load to be moved
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and provide on site direction
  • Ability to assemble and stack all types of communication towers including monopoles
  • Install various antenna mounts, cell booms and structural steel re-enforcements
  • Perform plumb and tension for all types of communication towers and poles
  • Install various antenna and transmission line systems, which include:
  • Installation of all types transmission lines. Elliptical, waveguide, Coax, DC trunk, and Fiber Optic trunk
  • Install connectors on transmission lines along with hoisting grips, hangers and ground kits
  • Install antennas including RF jumpers, and RET’s
  • Perform microwave dish installation including alignment.
  • Install various ancillary items on a communication tower including:
  • Wave-guide bridge for transmission lines
  • Ice guards on tower to protect dishes
  • Anti-climbs and fall arrest systems
  • Lighting systems
  • Grounding systems.
  • The ability to provide direction to Crane Operators engaged in hoisting and moving loads, to ensure the safety of others and material handled
  • Supervise assigned crew and verify quality and completeness of work performed. Report daily to Field Supervisor c/w timesheets & daily field reports
  • Ensure safety procedures and policies are being adhered to
  • Train, coach and mentor junior staff in the delivery of telecommunication systems and infrastructure

Ideal Experience:

  • Five or more years of experience as a Telecommunications Rigger
  • One year or more in a Lead Hand position or a field leadership role
  • Must have experience with ODTR testing and proper handling of fiber optic rooftop component installations
  • Experience in field reporting and expense management and reporting
  • Computer skills with Excel, Word and Email is required
  • Successful completion of the Safety in Rigging course
  • Successful completion of the First Aid course
  • Working knowledge of Trylon safety standards and regulations
  • Working knowledge of fall protection practices and procedures
  • Acceptable record of safety and discipline
  • Must be able to travel away from home and out of province
  • Minimum High School Education
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Heavy lifting, manual dexterity and proficient use of installation tools are required
