We currently have a need for a full time Production Supervisor (Midnight shift 11pm-7am, Sunday through Thursday shifts) at our Elmira, ON manufacturing facility. Responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in operating variety of machines to manufacture parts or products while maximizing efficiencies and ensuring on-time delivery.
You will:
- Provides direction and support to hourly employees in accordance with Trylon policies and procedures and all relevant legislation
- Ensures employees are appropriately trained to perform the work assigned in an efficient and safe manner
- Analyze and interpret data, downtime, productivity, quality, scrap for trends and assign causes
- Identify causes of inefficiency using data. Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met
- Active in quality functions, including supplier requirements, customer requirements, audits, customer trips, etc.
- Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
- Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems
- Maintains time and production records
- Ensure all work performed meets the standards of due diligence as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Works in compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and Lean Manufacturing principles
You have:
- Five years’ experience in a supervisory position
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience using ERP / MRP systems
- Highly organized
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A sense of urgency and ability to prioritize to meet company objectives
- Strong and proven team building and leadership skills
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S and a continuous improvement mindset
- Positive team player who likes working with people and contributing to a positive environment
- Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity – we’re a company going through lots of changes. There is a need to be flexible and move with changes as they unfold
- Ability to learn quickly, retain knowledge and apply within a short period of time
