QA Team Lead

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Team Lead in our Quality work group located in Elmira, ON.

In this on-site role, you will be responsible for scheduling and moving resources for various tasks to ensure QA commitments are met and engaged in various audits and investigations.

You will:

  • Monitor daily job audit status and assist on audits as needed
  • Monitor active containment activities and ensure targets are met
  • Perform and/or schedule First-Off and Spot Check audits as required
  • Conduct start of shift briefings with First-Off and QA Inspectors
  • Perform and/or schedule various Quality related inspections
  • Perform and/or schedule Trylon’s Safety System Drop Tests and Layard Quality Checks
  • Perform and/or schedule Trylon’s Tower audits when requested by PMs or Management team
  • Report quality concerns to the Quality Manager and Customer Care Manager
  • Inspect/quarantine defective items, ensuring clear communication of the problem to departmental leaders
  • Assist with the implementation and improvement of company QA programs for controlling product quality outputs
  • Create and revise QA related documentation as necessary
  • Carry out Internal ISO audits as required
  • Promote and advocate quality objectives and improvement across the organization
  • Assist with potential NCR investigations

Other duties as assigned/requested

You have:

  • Post-secondary education in either Quality Assurance or Manufacturing Operations
  • 1-3 years’ experience in Manufacturing, preferably steel-related
  • Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and engineering specifications
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems, such as ISO 9001 an asset
  • Solid analytical skills and practical problem-solving experience
  • Proficient with computers and MRP/ERP systems
  • Knowledge of calibration techniques
  • Experience with Internal Auditing an asset
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication and welding an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • A sense of urgency and ability to prioritize to meet company objectives
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking and data management
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive team player who likes working with people and contributing to a positive environment
  • Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity – we’re a company going through lots of changes. There is a need to be flexible and move with changes as they unfold
